MASON, Caroline
Mason received her degrees in Anthropology and Chinese at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University. She taught Chinese at the University of Durham until 1995. She now works as a professional translator while teaching part-time at Durham and at the University of Newcastle.

MAY, Rachel (梅瑞琦)
May studied English literature in London and taught English in China from 1980 to 1982. She has collaborated on several Chinese translations , including Yu Luojin's A Chinese Winter's Tale, and two martial arts novels of the Hong Kong novelist Louis Cha. PARKIN, Andrew (姜安道)
Born in 1937 in England, Parkin received his BA and MA in English from the University of Cambridge. His PhD in Drama is from Bristol University. He has published several academic books, numerous essays, and two books of poetry, Dancers in a Web and Yokohama Days, Kyoto Knights. He took up the Chair of English at the Chinese University in 1991, where he is a Fellow of Shaw College and University Orator. He is the founder president of the Association for Canadian Studies in Hong Kong.

PATTISON, David
Born in Australia, Pattison received his PhD from the Australian National University and was awarded an Australian Government scholarship to study in China between 1985 and 1988. He worked in the Department of Translation at Lingnan University in Hong Kong from 1992 to 1999, where he translated a number of Chinese works into English for the magazine Renditions . He is now teaching in the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Leeds.

POLLARD, David (卜立德)
Pollard served as Professor of Chinese at the University of London from 1978 to 1988 and Professor of Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1988 to 1997. He has written extensively on modern Chinese language and literature as well as on aspects of translation. Among his translations are The True Story of Lu Xun and Zhou Zuoren: Selected Essays.

Robson is Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Beloit College. She teaches all levels of Chinese language studies and Chinese calligraphy. Besides publishing research in the areas of modern Chinese linguistics, she has also served as a simultaneous interpreter and regularly translates Chinese texts into English.

Sheung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics at City University of Hong Kong. He received an MA in Linguistics from Reading University in 1986 and an MA in Literary Studies from the University of Hong Kong in 1991. Born in Hong Kong in 1935, Sham published his first book at the age of twenty. He has founded a number of literary magazines since 1950s. His publications include the award-winning poetry collection《詩大調》[Poetry Major] and the English novel Killing the Angel.

Fong So is a journalist-turned artist living and working in Hong Kong. He was an editor of a current affairs magazine before turning to art. His works have been exhibited in Hong Kong, South Korea, the UK and the USA. Despite his training in traditional Chinese painting and the media of brush and ink, both the content and the genre of his work are obviously different from those of traditional Chinese painting.

SONG, Chris (宋子江)
Song is a poet, translator and editor based in Hong Kong. He has published four collections of poetry and many volumes of poetry in translation. Song received an “Extraordinary Mention” at Italy’s UNESCO-recognized Nosside World Poetry Prize 2013. More recently he won the Young Artist Award at the 2017 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards, presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. He is now Executive Director of the Hong Kong International Poetry Nights and Editor-in-Chief of Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine. He also serves as an Arts Advisor for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

SOONG, Stephen Chi (宋淇)
Born in Zhejiang in 1919, Soong received his university education in the mainland before coming to Hong Kong in 1948. He joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1968 and co-founded the Research Centre for Translation and the journal Renditions. He translated a wide range of Western and Chinese literature.

SOU, Vai-keng (蘇惠琼)
Born in Macao in 1966, Sou is a visual and literary artist, who writes in both Chinese and English. During the 1990s, she wrote mainly drama scripts. Now her major literary works include novels, poems, short stories and poetry translation. As a painter, she has been showing her art works since 2002. One of her recent art project is New Gardens, a collaboration with Martin Zeller. The project combines photography and poetry mounted on Chinese rice paper in scrolls.
