In the parade, the Chiu Chow Association invited a world-renowned performance group to perform Chiu Chow music with gong and drum. The performance of this awards winning group is highly appreciated by the parade visitors and Cheung Chau residents.Piu Sik, Lion Dance (Cheung Chau Hing Lung Street Kai Fong Committee)
Among the various subject matters presented in the Piu Sik Parade, the Piu Sik crafted by Cheung Chau Hing Lung Street Kai Fong Committee is the only hand-carried set. This unique Piu Sik set takes four persons to carry. The team also carry the Sword of Pak Tai to the parade. This four-feet long sword was dredged up by local fishermen. The fishermen then donated to Yuk Hui Temple. The sword will be returned to the temple for storage after the parade.Piu Sik, Lion Dance, Gong and Drum

Most of the banner-bearers are members of different street associations. Members of each group wear a different team uniform for easy recognition. They march before and after the Piu Sik Parade. The “Kwun Yam Beach” in Cheung Chau is named after the Goddess of Mercy Temple (which is commonly known as Shui Yuet Kung) in the area. The difference in the temple’s appearance from general Chinese temple becomes a unique feature of the temple. The main deity of the temple is Guanyin Bodhisattva. The representation of the deity shown in the picture is enshrined in Shui Yuet Kung on Kwun Yam Wan Road in Cheung Chau.Cheung Chau Pak She Tin Hau
Formerly known as Tai Wan Mei Tin Hau Temple, Pak She Tin Hau Temple is the oldest temple in Cheung Chau. The words “Qianlong Reign 32nd Year” engraved on the temple's bronze ball testifies to the long history of the temple. The main deity of the temple is Tin Hau. Nam Tam Tin Hau Temple has a history of more than one hundred years. Its deity is enshrined in a small shrine inside the temple. Hung Sing is the God of the Sea in Guangdong which possesses the divine power in relieving disaster. Most of its believers populate in the Pearl River Delta. There are a variety of groups participating in the parade. Among which the members of Cheung Chau Vegetable Planters Association carry large lanterns on bamboo sticks with the words “Heaven and Earth Parents” to lead a monoceros dance.
