Biography:
Born in Hong Kong in 1961, Chung spent his childhood in Macau and graduated from Lingnan College with a degree in arts and history. His publications include the novels 《水色》[Water Colour] and 《四十四次日落》[44th Sunset], which were widely circulated in Taiwan and China.

Dent-Young studied Modern Languages at Cambridge and was teaching in the English Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong at the time of publication. He is also a drama critic for the South China Morning Post. Under the pen-name Tao Yang, John and Esther Dent-Young are joint authors of Borrowed Tongue.
