Biography:
Born in Guangdong in 1912, Chan began publishing poetry and criticism in 1935. He fled to Hong Kong in 1939 after the Japanese army retreated. He was involved in a number of literary publications and advocated for cultural change and democracy. Among his publications are the poetry collections 《蘆荻詩選》 [Lu Di’s Collection] and 《桑野》 [Wilderness].

Mok received her BA, MA and PhD from the University of Hong Kong, specialising in the study of Tang poetry. She lectured on translation and interpreting for many years in the Department of Translation, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
