Materialism

The materialism research in this project is developed on two widely used scales--Richins and Dawson's (1992) Material Values Scale and Goldberg et al.'s (2003) Youth Materialism Scale. Please go to About Materialism Studies for a full description of our research methods. Diagrams on this page are derived from 7 youth studies conducted between 2004 and 2008, covering Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and Macao. The first large diagram combines data from the two materialism scales, followed by results of individual questions.
