In allusion to the character in Dream of the Red Chamber, the story is about an outspoken old classmate named Zhao who is unwilling to follow the crowd. The story no longer embodies a sentimental narrator, but a mediocre person who is afraid of responsibilities.

Biography:
Born in Guangzhou in 1927, Li came to Hong Kong in 1952. He was active in early 1950s and one of the editors of the literary journals 《人人文學》 [Everyman’s Literature] and 《海瀾》 (Highland Magazine Monthly ). His works of fiction started to receive critical attention in recent years.

Translator Biography:
Born in Macao in 1966, Sou is a visual and literary artist, who writes in both Chinese and English. During the 1990s, she wrote mainly drama scripts. Now her major literary works include novels, poems, short stories and poetry translation. As a painter, she has been showing her art works since 2002. One of her recent art project is New Gardens, a collaboration with Martin Zeller. The project combines photography and poetry mounted on Chinese rice paper in scrolls.

Kit Kelen is Professor of English at the University of Macau where he taught Creative Writing, Children’s Literature and Poetry related courses since 2000. Volumes of Kit Kelen’s poetry have been published in various languages. The most recent of Kelen’s English language volumes is A Pocket Kit. At the time of publication, Kelen had a painting exhibition Imagen de Nada showing at the University of Minho in Braga.

Wong received her BA in English Literature from the Baptist University, MA in Cinema Studies from the University of East Anglia, MA in Communication from the University of Leicester and PhD in comparative literature from the University of Hong Kong. Wong used to be the Editor-in-Chief of the Hong Kong Film Archive. She was awarded fellowship to pursue her post-doctoral research at the Chinese Department of the University of Tokyo and was Assistant Professor at Lingnan University at the time of publication. She has written and edited multiple scholarly volumes on cinema and literature, including Hong Kong Cinema and Literature: Writer, Film ad Adaptation.

Song is a poet, translator and editor based in Hong Kong. He has published four collections of poetry and many volumes of poetry in translation. Song received an “Extraordinary Mention” at Italy’s UNESCO-recognized Nosside World Poetry Prize 2013. More recently he won the Young Artist Award at the 2017 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards, presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. He is now Executive Director of the Hong Kong International Poetry Nights and Editor-in-Chief of Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine. He also serves as an Arts Advisor for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council
