Synopsis:
This is a story about four old men, who were builders when they were young, trying to work on their final project using the abandoned decorations from the Chinese restaurant they always went to together. They eventually build a colourful tower on the beach, but one of the old men’s son, who is also a policeman, confronts them about the illegal structure. In the end, the four old men decide to burn it down.

Born in 1930 in Guangdong, Cheng fled the Sino-Japanese war in China and came to Hong Kong when he was in primary four. Enlightened by the revolutionary Zheng Bi'an, he developed an interest in literature from a young age. He started to be a full-time writer in the 1970s and published a number of novels, including《一家人》[Family].
