Biography:
Born in Taiwan in the 1960s, Tu came to Hong Kong in the early 1980s and received her PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She began writing poetry in 1992, and has published in a number of local magazines and newspapers. Her publications include the poetry collection 《女巫之歌》( The Witch's Song).

Translator Biography:
Born in Scotland, Holton spent his early years in Nigeria. He studied Chinese at the universities of Edinburgh and Durham. He taught at a number of universities in the UK, and taught translation for ten years at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He began publishing his Scots translations of the classic Ming novel Shuihu Zhuan (Water margin) in 1981, and is currently the only publishing Chinese-Scots translator in the world.

Pollard served as Professor of Chinese at the University of London from 1978 to 1988 and Professor of Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1988 to 1997. He has written extensively on modern Chinese language and literature as well as on aspects of translation. Among his translations are The True Story of Lu Xun and Zhou Zuoren: Selected Essays.
