Biography:
Born in 1966, Fan is currently Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Head of Hong Kong Literature Research Centre. His publications include the collections 《力學》[Mechanics] and《暗飛》[Flying in the Dark]. He is also the editor of《墨痕深處:文學、歷史、記憶論集》[Deep in the Ink: Essays on Literature, History and Memories].

Chapman joined the East Asia Library at the University of Washington as China Studies Reference and Instruction Specialist in 2019. Ian’s background is in interdisciplinary Chinese studies, mainly premodern. He previously taught language, literature, history, and religion courses at the same institution. He holds a PhD in Chinese history from Princeton University and recently earned his MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Editor Biography:
Born in Hong Kong, Hung received her doctorate at the University of London. She was the Director of the Research Centre for Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and editor of the literary journal Renditions. She has translated works by Wang Anyi and Eileen Chang into English.

Pollard served as Professor of Chinese at the University of London from 1978 to 1988 and Professor of Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1988 to 1997. He has written extensively on modern Chinese language and literature as well as on aspects of translation. Among his translations are The True Story of Lu Xun and Zhou Zuoren: Selected Essays.
