Biography:
Born in 1949, Leung was one of Hong Kong's best-known cultural icons. A versatile writer, his works ranged from poetry to novels, including《布拉格的明信片》 (Postcards from Prague) (1990), 《半途：梁秉鈞詩選》(Mid-way: Leung Ping Kwan's Poetry Collection and 《後殖民食物與愛情》(Postcolonial Affairs of Food and the Heart).

Sheung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics at City University of Hong Kong. He received an MA in Linguistics from Reading University in 1986 and an MA in Literary Studies from the University of Hong Kong in 1991. He has published in the American Journal of Semiotics and Language International.

Pollard served as Professor of Chinese at the University of London from 1978 to 1988 and Professor of Translation at The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1988 to 1997. He has written extensively on modern Chinese language and literature as well as on aspects of translation. Among his translations are The True Story of Lu Xun and Zhou Zuoren: Selected Essays.
