Biography:
Lee grew up in Hong Kong and graduated from the Northcote College of Education. He started writing literary criticism and promoting modernist literature in the 1960s. He was the editor of The Epoch Poetry Quarterly, a Taiwan poetry journal, and a short-lived literary journal which he co-founded in 1963. In the 1970s, Li began to write books and newspaper article s about his different hobbies such as pets, gardening and antiques, including the essay 再闖不出去的麻雀 (“No Exit”).

Yue worked as Managing Editor of Renditions from 1973 to 1976, and taught translation at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Hong Kong. She has published various translation works, including four books on Kunqu opera in the series Writings on the Theory of Kun Qu Singing.

Ip received her BA and MPhil in Translation from the University of Hong Kong. She joined the Research Centre for Translation, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003 and served as Managing Editor of its magazine Renditions. Her research focuses on the translations of traditional Chinese literature into English and German.
