Biography:
Born in Guangdong in 1914, Liu moved to Hong Kong in 1936. He fled to Shanghai during the Japanese invasion and returned in 1948. Apart from working as a translator and editor, he also published poems, essays and translations in a number of local newspapers and magazines. His publication includes the poetry collection 《海天集》[Collection of the Ocean and the Sky].

Ip received her BA and MPhil in Translation from the University of Hong Kong. She joined the Research Centre for Translation, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003 and served as Managing Editor of its magazine Renditions. Her research focuses on the translations of traditional Chinese literature into English and German.
