Synopsis:
In the story, the protagonist's boyfriend, Lu An, often makes his dead girlfriend their topic of conversation, and the protagonist is not particularly interested. When she goes to have dinner with his family, his mother also mixes her up with the dead girlfriend. She gradually thinks more often of the girl whenever something comes up.

Biography:
Born in 1950 in Hong Kong, Wong's family emigrated to Mainland China, where she received her education and experienced the Cultural Revolution. After obtaining her master's degree in comparative literature in Shanghai, she settled in Hong Kong in 1989 and worked for several newspapers. She is currently working as a full-time writer.

Leung received her BA from the University of Hong Kong and her MA in Translation from the University of Westminster. She was a former member of the Research Centre for Translation, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has worked at the Chinese Department of the University of Hong Kong.

Wickeri obtained her Master of Fine Arts in Fiction at San Francisco State University. She has been the editor of Chinese Theological Review since 1985, and the translator of the magazine Renditions . She has translated a number of short stories by Mo Yan, including “Explosions”, “The Flying Ship” and “The Cat Specialist”. Her translations also consist of works by Eileen Chang, Wang Pu and Xiao Si.

Ip received her BA and MPhil in Translation from the University of Hong Kong. She joined the Research Centre for Translation, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003 and served as Managing Editor of its magazine Renditions. Her research focuses on the translations of traditional Chinese literature into English and German.
