| Description | The image is inspired by Wu Biduan and Jin Shangyi’s painting Chairman Mao Standing with People of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In this painting, Mao’s figure was dramatized by using realistic shadows and painting techniques. Taking this as a reference, I used the similar way to generate the figure of Tsang Tsou Choi and his work in Kowloon City. Tsang’s work, which has faded away mostly, has not been protected properly by the government. I hope to keep his spirit and perseverance of pursuing what he wanted through my work even if his work eventually disappeared. (The text is provided by the student) |
