Detail: The Chaoshou Band, a curved armrest tenon, represents a variation of the through tenon. Unlike its straight counterpart, it necessitates drilling central holes into the slim face of the wooden plank. The handle strip, carved from high-strength hardwood, assumes a wedge-like form. This technique is frequently employed in the construction of traditional Chinese gate doors.
Process: The Chaoshou Band is assembled by first creating a penetrating mortise on the narrow edges of the boards. The crafted chaoshou tenon is then coated with adhesive and fitted snugly into the corresponding mortise.
