OA Publishing Agreements

OA Publishing Agreements

The Library actively pursues OA publishing agreements (also known as transformative agreements) with publishers that both:

  • Cover article processing charges (APCs) for HKBU authors

  • Maintain or even enhance existing journal subscriptions

14
publishers signed
|
607
APC quotas approved since 2020
Note:
  1. Publishers treat HKBU and BNBU as separate entities under OA agreements. Only HKBU staff and students can enjoy the deals.
  2. Always use your HKBU email to submit manuscripts to access APC waivers!
  3. Choose a CC BY license for greatest visibility and reuse of your work. If you are concerned about commercial reuse, choose CC BY-NC-ND
  4. Not every journal from each publisher may be eligible. Please check and confirm that the journal you want to publish in is eligible before submitting your manuscript.

It indicates the remaining quota for OA requests by the end of 2025.
Note that even if a quota is available, it may be exhausted by other concurrent article submissions before your OA request is processed.

Please ensure the journal you plan to publish in is covered before manuscript submissions. Click the following links to view the lists of eligible journals.
