OA Publishing Agreements

One of the Library's current strategies is to pursue OA publishing agreements (also known as transformative agreements) with publishers that both:

  • Maintain (or even enhance in some cases) our current journal subscriptions
  • Cover the article processing charges (APC) for HKBU authors publishing in their hybrid OA journals
So far, 10 publishers (and SCOAP3) have signed these agreements with the HKBU Library. Only HKBU staff and students located in Hong Kong can enjoy the deals. Please remember to use your HKBU email account to submit manuscripts to enjoy APC waivers!

SCOAP3

Effective between 2017 and 2024, all HKBU faculty and students can publish OA in these 11 journals free of charge.
