無危。留鳥。中型翠鳥，黑白斑駁。嘴黑色，下體白色，雄鳥有上寬下窄的兩條黑胸帶，而雌鳥和幼鳥只有一條不完整的胸帶。見於魚塘，濕農地，其他濕地和溪流。
Least Concern. Common Residents. Medium-sized black-and-white kingfisher. Black bill. Underparts mainly in white. Male has two black breast bands while juvenile and female has two black round chest patches. Can be found in fish ponds, wet farmlands, other wetlands and streams.
