無危。留鳥。大型黑色秧雞，雌雄同色。嘴小而紅，有黃色嘴端，紅色額板。腳青黃色。翼上有白紋，尾下覆羽兩側白色。見於各類型濕地。
Least Concern. Common Residents. Large-sized rail. Sexes alike with plumage mainly in black. Bill is small and red with a yellow bill tip and with red frontal plate. Legs greenish yellow. White stripe on folded wing and white colour on both sides of undertail coverts. Found in various wetland habitats.
