Small Wumu And Huanghuali Stand

Qing Dynasty
Stand
Ebony, Cocobolo (Huanghuali)
63.5 × 23 × 17 cm

  • This desk table is a fine blend of ebony and huanghuali woods, presenting a single, solid panel of huanghuali inlaid within an ebony frame on the tabletop, combining the strength and beauty of both materials.
  • The table's edges are smoothly finished, widening at the top and tapering towards the bottom, with a distinctive pressed edge line that curves upward at both ends, adding a refined touch to the silhouette.
  • Structurally, the table is assembled with interlocking tenons, supported by square ebony legs and feet adorned with side decorative lines and dual incense grooves down the center, all resting on a sturdy base.
  • Tooth-shaped huanghuali wood ornamentations and edge strips feature elegant, cloud-like patterns, and an inlaid huanghuali ring board with auspicious carvings bridges the space between the legs, enhancing the visual harmony and the striking contrast of the two woods.
