  • The ancient brazier, a versatile household item, provided warmth and a means to heat wine, with charcoal burning within. Depictions of social gatherings around braziers are common in historical artwork. Brazier stands, varying in height with some as short as a foot, typically feature a square frame on four legs, usually constructed from common wood due to the practical simplicity of design.
  • This particular tall brazier stand mirrors a square incense table with a large circular aperture to hold the brazier, crafted with superior materials and workmanship. While braziers are often made from more readily available woods to withstand damage from the heat, those fashioned from the rare and prized huanghuali wood are exceptionally unusual.
