A Pair of Zitan waisted recbangular stools

Middle Qing Period
Recbangular Stool
Ipe (Zitan)
49.5 × 45 × 51 cm

  • The seat features a mitered corner joint, with edges that are rounded and polished for a smooth touch.
  • Despite the four legs being fashioned from square timber, their edges are rounded off, creating a cohesive and unified appearance with the seat's design.
  • The base is connected to the legs using a lattice shoulder tenon, and this method is consistently applied to attach the horizontal supports with both the lattice shoulder tenon and the apron.
