The Chase

　　Swordsman Shih Hai-lung sets out to avenge his father's death, knowing only that it involved the Golden Gate Sect and a man called Han l-chu.

　　He kills two Heavenly Dragon Association gangsters who tried to grab his priceless sword. This sparks off a grudge between Shih and the Association now headed by Han.

　　Shih's sword and swordplay attract the attention of young knight Wei Ping and his colleague, Yi Fang-fang. They want to befriend Shih, but to no avail. Travelling along, Shih has his sword stolen by Yun Tsai, a sensuous woman he comes to know.

　　At the Association's headquarters, Shih gets into an ambush by the Heavenly Dragon henchmen. He draws his sword, only to discover it has been replaced by a fake. Still, he fights a way out to see Han, who urges him to leave immediately and start searching for his lost weapon. Wei, who has been tailing Shih secretly, notices Han's mysterious behaviour. He reveals his identities to Han as a member of the Golden Gate Sect. Looking frightened, Han leads Wei into a secret room.

　　Shih suspects Yun of the stealing. He calls on her, and demands she return the sword. This she does. Shih leaves after refusing to help her eliminate Han. In a small lane, he meets Yi, who tries out his fighting ability in a duel. The two become friends afterwards. Shih tells Yi that he is in a hunt for his father's killer. Yi offers to help. They go to the Association's headquarters, but find Han killed in the secret room. They soon come under an attack by the henchmen, but manage to flee. Then, Yun appears in the scene. She sneaks into the secret room where she finds a sword identical to Shih's but in fact belonging to Shih's late father The find results in her being chosen as the Association's new chief.

　　Later, it is revealed that Wei had tortured Han to death in the process of forcing him to tell the truth. Han admitted he got the coveted sword in the scene where Shih's father and Wer's father died after duelling to a draw. He started lots of rumours to fan up new enmity between the Yis and the Shihs.

　　Yun, who was Han's mistress, also knows of this secret. She tries to talk Shih into avenging his father's death on Wei. But Yi arrives in time with Wei to expose her plot. Wun is finally killed.
