“LOVINGLY YOURS”
SYNOPSIS
“LOVINGLY YOURS” tells the story of two young lovers, Pan Hsiao-niei (Mao Mei) and Pai Ta-hsiung (Kwan Shan), whose happy marriage is almost foiled by their overanxious parents. How the parents created a lot of mess by posing their noses into the youngsters' affair and how the young lovers triumphed over their obstacles are vividly described in this stream-lined comedy.
Upon learning that her only daughter is going to get married, Mrs. Pan (Yu Wan-fei) makes plans to ensure Hsiao- mei's happiness. Mr. Pan (Bao Fong) is very much worried when he finds that his wife's real intention is to tie Hsiao-mei to her apron's strings without regards to the youngsters' wishes, but he is too hen-packed to raise even the slightest objection. Hsiao-mei, on the other hand, makes preparations with Ta-hsiung to get married, without knowing that her mother has different ideas.
Ta-hsiung's father (Su Ching) is overjoyed to learn his son's coming marriage and comes from North Borneo to attend the wedding. Being an old widower, he wants to take the newly-weds to North Borneo to help him in his enterprise. This Ta-hsiung does not know too, for he is happily working in Hong Kong with Hsiao-mei and means to stay in Hong Kong after marriage.
Mrs. Pan and Mr. Pai both find out the other party's intentions and start a quarrel. They both insist upon their own subjective views, putting the young lovers into a very awkward situation. How they solve their problem builds up to a hilarious climax and at the end everybody is happy.
