--THE STORY--

Music, Lights, Flowers, Dazzling Jewelry. It is a party given in honour of beautiful Fong Fei by a rich merchant and attended by all the elite of the society. Many of the latter, young rich blades, are in hope of obtaining special favour from Fong Fei.

At height of the gaiety, several guests suddenly discover the most precious jewels they wear are missing, Fong Fei's beautiful Diamond Scarfpin among the lot. The suspicion centers on Ting Li, a young man who had shown astonishing dexterity in performing magic tricks. A search on every person is instituted by the guests, but they find nothing on Ting. Later, the stolen jewels are slipped into Ting's pocket and carried away from the vigilant detectives.

Next morning Ting discovers the loot accidently; and unexpexctedly Fong Fei calls on him. This arouses Ting's suspicion of the truth that she is the real thief. But Fong Fei discovers his traps in time. She left without taking anything back. Then a detective Inspector calls on Ting, who has the record of a reformed master thief. Ting has much difficulty in hiding the jewels from the Inspector; he does not wish to implicate Fong Fei.

Fong Yun-shing, who is really a master crook and is pretending as Fong Fei's uncle, set more traps to snare Ting for recovering the jewelry, but failed. Fong Fei is compelled by him to search Ting's effects in secret, but she is caught by Ting. The latter persuades her to abandon such shameful profession by getting out of Fong Yun-shing's clutches. They decide to escape together.

But they are intercepted by Fong's henchmen. Ting is severely warned. In order to save Ting's life and obtain her own freedom, Fong Fei promises to try once more to steal for Fong Yun-shing his deeply-coveted Giant Diamond of How Family on the occassion of old lady How's birthday party.

The day arrives. The young Master How, being one of the most ardent admirers of Fong Fei, she has no difficulty in getting into the family's strong-room alone. She picks up the treasure and leaves, but discovers she is followed by a shadow, who tries to stop her. She dodges and runs, but right into the arms of another man, who viciously chokes her and take the Diamond away from her. The shadow comes up in rescue and immediately close with this man, who proves to be Fong Yun-shing himself, and the shadow is Ting Li who comes to stop Fong Fei from commiting further crime.

They struggle very fiercely, and are discovered by the now aroused How household and detectives guarding the strongroom. Fong accuses Ting, and a diamond of same size and shape is found on the person of Ting. They arrest Ting accordingly and remove him inspite of all his protests, leaving Fong triumphant with the real Diamond in his pocket and Fong Fei still in his clutch.

However, there is another twist of circumstances by the genius of Ting. The table is turned, the real Diamond discovered and all ends well for the young lovers who decide to reform once for all.
