Mr. Chiu Sin Wing was born in 1964 and graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Mr. Chiu has been involved in social movements since the 1980s and he was the founding member of the Christians for Hong Kong Society in 1987. Mr. Chiu began his involvement in the Hong Kong Human Rights Commission in the 1990s and published Hong Kong Human Rights Report to illustrate the human rights situation in Hong Kong and mainland China at that time. In recent years Mr. Chiu has shifted his focus to fair trade in tandem with his travels to Central America and North America. Mr. Chiu established Hong Kong Fair Power in 2005 as part of his determined effort to introduce the concept of fair trade into Hong Kong and to improve the living standard of third-world countries through fair trade.


Mr. Anthony Chiu shared about his participation in FES when he was an undergraduate student in CUHK. He explained how Christian activities have shaped his personal values. He recalled the process of the establishment of the Christians for Hong Kong Society in 1987. He recounted activities and the working methods of the Society. He introduced the reasons for his endeavors in promoting human rights and for joining Hong Kong Human Rights Commission in 1990s. He also shared his personal journey before and after Hong Kong’s return to China, and reviewed his theological reflections.
