In this hands-on workshop, explore how to leverage the capabilities of ChatGPT for performing text analytics tasks using Python, including sentiment analysis, stance detection, and named entity recognition. Through practical examples and exercises, learn how to harness the power of ChatGPT, integrate it into text analytics projects, write effective prompts, and process the results returned by the large language model.

Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic concepts and capabilities of ChatGPT and its applications in text analytics;

  • set up the necessary environment and tools for using ChatGPT in Python;

  • perform text analytics using ChatGPT, including prompt engineering and processing ChatGPT results.

This is a CCL credit-bearing event. HKBU students registered with HKBU email addresses are welcome to participate and earn 1 CCL credit by attending the whole session.
