Dive into the world of data science with R in this introductory workshop. Learn how to import, tidy, transform, visualise, and model data. This hands-on session is designed for beginners who want to explore how to transform raw data into understanding, insight, and knowledge.

Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • import, tidy, and transform datasets using R, applying essential functions from the dplyr package;

  • create and interpret visualisations with ggplot2 to effectively communicate insights derived from data; and

  • gain understanding of statistical modelling techniques and identify resources for further learning in data science.

This is a CCL credit-bearing event. HKBU students registered with HKBU email addresses are welcome to participate and earn 1 CCL credit by attending the whole session.
