Prof. Alice Lee

Prof. Alice LEE

Associate Dean & Associate Professor
Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong

Prof. Alice Lee specialises in property law – real property/land as well as intellectual property. She has published books, book chapters, articles and practitioner text, taught undergraduate and postgraduate students, engaged students and the public in IP law reform consultation and exchanged knowledge with government departments and non-governmental organisations. She has been part of the team that launched Creative Commons HK and has served on many consultative committees and statutory bodies.

Since she was appointed the Associate Dean (Academic Affairs) of the HKU Faculty of Law in 2011, Prof. Lee has explored new theories and practices for learning and created opportunities for students and alumni to connect with the industry and reach out to the public. The teaching awards Prof. Lee received in recognition of her dedicated teaching have become the impetus for further explorations in student empowerment.

Senior Solicitor
Intellectual Property Department, The Government of the HKSAR

Mr. Frederick Kwok is a Senior Solicitor of the Intellectual Property Department (IPD). He is currently in the Patents and Designs Team of the IPD. His main duties include providing policy support to the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau on matters concerning patents and designs, formulating legislative proposals on patent-related legislation, and providing legal advice to the Patents and Designs Registries.

Mr. Kwok was admitted as a Solicitor of Hong Kong in 2013 and joined the IPD in 2016. Prior to joining the IPD, he was a lawyer in private practice.

Intellectual Property Management, SME Engagement Division, Hong Kong Productivity Council

Ms. Phoebe Lee has over 10 years of experience in the provision of consultancy services to industry, mainly on IP management and patent related work. She is highly experienced in assisting company to secure the IP protection, to effectively capitalize and manage its IP portfolio, and to accelerate innovation by upgrading the overall IP management capability.

Phoebe is also responsible for administrating the Government’s Patent Application Grant (PAG) Scheme under the funding support of the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC). Her intellectual property experience includes managing patent applications in China, Hong Kong, Europe, Japan, Germany and the United States, etc.
