Prof. Alice Lee specialises in property law – real property/land as well as intellectual property. She has published books, book chapters, articles and practitioner text, taught undergraduate and postgraduate students, engaged students and the public in IP law reform consultation and exchanged knowledge with government departments and non-governmental organisations. She has been part of the team that launched Creative Commons HK and has served on many consultative committees and statutory bodies.
Since she was appointed the Associate Dean (Academic Affairs) of the HKU Faculty of Law in 2011, Prof. Lee has explored new theories and practices for learning and created opportunities for students and alumni to connect with the industry and reach out to the public. The teaching awards Prof. Lee received in recognition of her dedicated teaching have become the impetus for further explorations in student empowerment.

Miss Maggie Wong is a Senior Solicitor of the Intellectual Property Department (IPD). She is currently a member of the Advisory Team of the IPD. Her duties include providing civil legal advice on IP matters to government bureaux and departments, overseeing the development of the collaborative relations and efforts with other IP authorities and international bodies, and supporting the IP Trading initiative by formulating and implementing appropriate strategies and supportmeasures for developing Hong Kong as an IP trading hub in the region.
Miss Wong was admitted as a Solicitor of Hong Kong in 2006 and joined the IPD in 2014. Prior to joining the IPD, she has worked both in private practice and as an in-house lawyer.

Mr. Robert Jackson is a Senior Associate in the Chemical/Life Sciences team at Spruson & Ferguson Hong Kong. Prior to joining Spruson and Ferguson, Hong Kong, Robert had a diverse career. He worked as a synthetic organic chemist at a high profile biotechnology startup before transitioning to the field of intellectual property where he worked in an in-house position for a biotechnology startup and at both US and Singapore-based patent law firms. More recently, Robert worked at the National University of Singapore Industry Liaison Office where he managed the evaluation, drafting, and prosecution of a diverse patent portfolio, including small molecule and biologic-based therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, assays, stem cell, and immunology based technologies.
Robert has experience in the preparation, drafting, and prosecution of patent applications in the chemical arts with an emphasis in organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, polymers, and other chemical inventions.
Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University with a specialization in chemistry and undertook his postgraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was awarded a Master of Science for research focused on the development of nickel mediated asymmetric catalytic methodology.
Robert later went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at Suffolk University Law School and was admitted to the California Bar in 2009.

Mrs. Serene Ong graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with Honours and joined a reputable Japanese patent law firm based in Osaka as a Patent Analyst. During her tenure, she was actively involved in prosecution and litigation matters with regard to patent applications across a wide range of technologies and her role grew to a team leader of a team of Patent Analysts.
In 2011, Serene joined Yokogawa Electric International in an in-house role. Her responsibilities included the management of the intellectual property portfolios of their Singapore and India subsidiaries. Her passion in matters of intellectual property is evidenced by her regular contribution to the internal publication of IP News, participation in seminars to bring greater awareness of IP matters and providing open door IP consultation sessions.
Serene was recognized for her expertise and outstanding contribution towards protecting IP work in the US, India and Singapore when she received the Yokogawa Headquarters Innovation Award (2012), as the very first recipient. This award is issued by the Head of Yokogawa Innovation Headquarters based in Japan.
At Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Serene is involved in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in Singapore and Overseas.
